ALSA BUCKEYE REGIONAL LLAMA SHOW

October 6-7, 2007 are the dates for the Southeastern Regional Llama Show held in Sunbury, Ohio.  LLAMAS OF THE BLUEGRASS will be taking four of their spring 2007 crias.  Three of the girls are sired by SILVERMINE and one is from an Oregon breeding program.  Hopefully these girls will be trained by the first of October!  Because we have had such terribly hot weather this summer we have not been able to work with them as much as we would like.  And "oh the grooming" that is going to be necessary to make them beautiful!  Being hosed down a couple of times and day, and then rolling in the straw and dust, has made for a pretty big grooming chore!  Somehow it all comes together by "showtime"!

FALL LLAMA DAZE

Every fall we hold a FALL LLAMA & ALPACA DAZE in conjunction with EVANS ORCHARD'S FALL CELEBRATION.  This year it will be held on October 13, 2007.  The fall Llama Daze is a mini version of our Spring Llama Daze.  It is an outdoor event, so we are at the mercy of the weather, but we have the added excitement of the activities going on around us.  You can visit www.evansorchard.com to get directions and learn about what they have planned.  Hope you get a chance to visit us!

6th ANNUAL LLAMA & ALPACA DAZE

The Kentucky Llama & Alpaca Association will sponsor the 6th ANNUAL LLAMA & ALPACA DAZE on May 24, 2008 from noon to 4pm at the Scott County Park, open barn, in Georgetown, Kentucky.  Plans are in progress, so watch this site for up dates.  If you would like to participate with your llamas or as a vendor, please contact us.

EVENTS & SHOWS

May 26, 2007

5th Annual Llama & Alpaca Daze, held in Georgetown, Kentucky at the Scott County Park - Open Barn, from noon to 4pm.  Llama Daze is a farm information day sponsored by the Kentucky Llama & Alpaca Association.  If you have ever wanted to get "up front and personal" with llamas this is your opportunity!  You can help groom llamas, watch shearing demonstrations, lead a llama, talk to a Vet. about llama care, discuss llamas with numerous  llama breeders, find out about llama fiber and it's uses, see llamas for sale, find out about llama stud service and just have a great time with these wonderful animals!  Hogg Wild Bar-B-Que will join us again this year, so you can also have lunch with a llama.  One of the vendors that is joining us is an animal communicator.  We will also have fiber artists, dog trainers and other industry related vendors.  Admission and parking are free - so come join us for a fun day!

LLAMAS OF THE BLUEGRASS will have a wide selection of llamas for sale at Llama Daze.  We will be featuring the last off spring of the Champion llama SRR OBSIDIAN.  If you have been wanting to start raising llamas or are looking for a stud to add to your existing herd, this is an excellent opportunity to add a great bloodline to your farm.  We will have females, geldings and studs for sale.

2007 LLAMA DAZE WAS A GREAT SUCCESS!

The 5th Annual Llama & Alpaca Daze was visited by over 1000 people this year.  We had 9 local llama farms participate, showcasing their breeding programs.  A wide variety of vendors attended.  Hogg Wild Grill cooked up their good food and a good time was had by all!  We are looking forward to the 6th Annual Llama & Alpaca Daze to be held around Memorial Day 2008.
